Charizard

⚡

Charizard is one of the most recognizable Pokémon alive — Fire/Flying, enormous, the final form of Charmander, and the subject of more Generation I nostalgia than possibly any other individual species. In Pokopia, it arrives late, large, and unhurried.

Role in Pokopia

Charizard appears in the island's more developed areas once the fire-type ecosystem has matured and high-elevation spots have been restored. It typically roosts at elevated positions and can be seen in thermal currents above the island's higher terrain. Some Pokémon that are smaller and more cautious clear space when Charizard passes overhead — not from fear exactly, but from the reasonable instinct to give large, fire-breathing entities appropriate room.

Pokémon Notes

Fire/Flying-type from Generation I. Has two Mega Evolutions and a Gigantamax form in the mainline games. In Pokopia, it's simply its standard form — which is, admittedly, already quite a lot. Charmander and Charizard coexisting on the same island is one of those quiet evolutionary-line details that the game allows to be noticed without highlighting it.
