Skwovet

⚡

Skwovet is a small Normal-type squirrel that hoards food — specifically berries, which it stuffs into its cheeks to the point of visible stretching. It hoards with dedication that suggests anxiety rather than mere instinct: there's something in Skwovet that cannot fully believe there will be enough.

Role in Pokopia

Skwovet appears in forested and well-vegetated areas where food sources are available. They're among the earliest mammalian Pokémon to establish themselves in a restored area, setting up small caches in hollow logs and rock crevices. Their hoarding behavior actually benefits the island — buried berries they forget about occasionally sprout, adding new growth in unexpected locations.

Pokémon Notes

Normal-type from Generation VIII (Galar). The Skwovet line was designed for Galar's forest routes — small, common, part of the background fauna. In Pokopia, that background role suits it well: Skwovet is the sound of undergrowth moving, the flash of gray at the edge of sight.
