Slowpoke

Slowpoke is legendary for being slow. Not just in movement — its reaction time to stimuli is genuinely delayed by seconds, a quirk of its Psychic nature. This gives Slowpoke a quality that is either infuriating or deeply peaceful depending on your disposition. On an island where patience is a core virtue, Slowpoke fits.

Role in Pokopia

Slowpoke appears near water, often with its tail dangling in, apparently fishing — though nothing has ever been observed actually caught. They're present in early water areas and tend to stay exactly where they've always been regardless of how much the surrounding environment changes. Slowpoke was there before the restoration began. Slowpoke will be there after it ends.

Psychic-type (or Water/Psychic when holding Shellder) from Generation I. Slowpoke is famous for the running joke of its tail regrowing and being considered a delicacy in one fictional region, and for being the spiritual patron Pokémon of anyone who has ever thought 'just five more minutes'. In Pokopia, it's a fixture.
