Lotad

⚡

Lotad is a Water/Grass-type with a large lily pad growing from its head, which it uses as a water-carrying vessel. It floats on lakes and rivers, sometimes giving small Pokémon rides across the water on its head-pad, apparently without particular objection. The lily pad is functional. Lotad is practical.

Role in Pokopia

Lotad appears in still or slow-moving water habitats — ponds and lake sections that have been restored to reasonable water quality. They drift with the current, unhurried, their head-pads collecting water and occasionally acting as small ferries for the island's tinier residents. Finding Lotad in a restored pond is an early signal of healthy freshwater ecology.

Pokémon Notes

Water/Grass-type from Generation III (Hoenn). Evolves into Lombre and then Ludicolo — who also appears on this island, giving players the unusual experience of a full evolutionary line present as separate residents. Ludicolo's festive final form and Lotad's serene base form make an interesting contrast.
