Ludicolo

⚡

Ludicolo is Lotad fully evolved — a Water/Grass-type with a festive sombrero, a poncho-like body pattern, and the general demeanor of something that has decided life is inherently worth celebrating. It dances when it hears cheerful music, which in an island with DJ Rotom, is fairly often.

Role in Pokopia

Ludicolo appears near water areas that have been fully restored — the healthiest lakes and river sections — but also near wherever music is playing. The interaction between Ludicolo and DJ Rotom is one of Pokopia's more openly joyful environmental details: the moment you place Rotom's stereo in the right position relative to a well-developed water habitat, Ludicolo appears and starts moving in time. It's difficult to observe this and not feel good about the island.

Pokémon Notes

Water/Grass-type from Generation III. Ludicolo's design is deliberately festive — the hat, the dance, the visible joy — which made it an immediate fan favorite. In competitive play it's a serious weather-based threat; in Pokopia, it's the Pokémon that dances near the music.
