Marill

⚡

Marill is a small, round Water/Fairy-type with a bobbing blue body and a spring-shaped tail with a bubble at the end. The tail is buoyant, which prevents Marill from sinking even in fast-moving water, letting it float calmly wherever the current takes it and look cheerful about the whole journey.

Role in Pokopia

Marill appears in water habitats — rivers, ponds, calm coastal sections. They're among the friendliest water Pokémon on the island, willing to approach Ditto relatively early in the restoration process without requiring elaborate habitat setup. Their presence in a restored waterway is reliably cheerful.

Pokémon Notes

Water/Fairy-type from Generation II, though it was teased as early as the Generation I anime and nicknamed 'Pikablu' by a persistent early-internet rumor. Evolves into Azumarill. Marill is one of the original Baby Pokémon pre-evolutions (from Azurill), giving it an unusually long connection to the franchise's early mythology.
