Fluff

🪵

Soft, fibrous material gathered not from the environment directly but from the habitats of Pokémon species with thick fur or downy plumage. Fluff accumulates naturally in the resting areas of species like Snorlax, Wooloo, and similar comfort-loving Pokémon — shed insulation, nest material, and the general soft detritus of creatures who value warmth. It cannot be harvested from bare terrain; it is always a byproduct of successful habitation, which gives it a unique quality among Pokopia's crafting materials.

Fluff is the primary ingredient in Pokopia's comfort tier of furniture: Wooden Beds, cushioned seating, and upholstered items all require it in meaningful quantities. Its dependence on active Pokémon habitation makes it a material that rewards investment in building diverse, well-populated habitats early — the more species visiting and settling on the island, the more Fluff accumulates. In this way it encodes the game's core loop directly into the crafting system: the island supports itself through the vitality of its inhabitants.
