Nonburnable Garbage

Discarded materials left behind from the island's period of human habitation — broken tools, spent containers, worn synthetics, and other detritus that does not compost, does not dissolve, and does not go away on its own. Nonburnable Garbage is Pokopia's most philosophically interesting crafting material: it is the evidence of what came before, repurposed rather than ignored. The game's decision to make it a usable resource rather than simply something to be disposed of is a quiet statement about what restoration actually means.

Nonburnable Garbage is gathered from the areas of Palette Town and other formerly inhabited sections of the island where scrap has accumulated. Its crafting applications are Garbage Bins and Garbage Bags — items that acknowledge the island's history and provide practical utility infrastructure rather than decorative charm. There is something fitting about using old refuse to build waste management: the island is, in a small way, cleaning itself up with its own mess.
