Dragonite

⚡

Dragonite is the most powerful Pokémon you'll befriend in Pokopia's main restoration arc, and it shows. Large, amber-eyed, and genuinely good-natured in the way that only very powerful things can afford to be, Dragonite arrives late and teaches Glide — the move that lets Ditto launch from high ground and soar across the island.

Late-Game Milestone

Dragonite doesn't appear until the island has reached a significant level of health. They're drawn to thriving ecosystems, not struggling ones, and their arrival is a visible marker of progress: if Dragonite is here, the island has become something worth visiting. Their presence near a fully restored biome is one of the game's understated moments of achievement.

Teaching Glide

Glide is the last major movement unlock in the game, and it changes how the entire island feels. Areas that required tedious navigation become minutes away from the right cliff edge. The island shrinks — productively — and Dragonite, serene and enormous overhead, makes the whole thing feel like a gift.

Pokémon Notes

Dragon/Flying-type from Kanto, the final evolution of the Dratini line. Dragonite's characterization in the Pokémon games has always been notably warm — it's famously friendly and is said to carry shipwrecked sailors to land. Pokopia leans into that interpretation completely.
