Drilbur

⚡

Drilbur is a mole Pokémon built specifically for moving earth — its claws are drill-shaped, it rotates when it burrows, and it can reach speeds of 50 km/h underground. In Pokopia, that digging expertise directly translates into teaching Ditto the Rototiller move, which tills soil and enables cropland creation.

Teaching Rototiller

Befriending Drilbur unlocks Rototiller — a move that converts hard, dead soil into cultivated earth ready for planting. This allows Ditto to rearrange habitat placements over time, moving plant life rather than starting from scratch. Drilbur's contribution to the island is foundational in the most literal sense: it changes what's beneath everything else.

Finding Drilbur

Drilbur prefers areas with loose or broken ground — the aftermath of Rock Smash operations, dried riverbeds, areas where soil composition has been disrupted. They're most active at dawn and dusk, when the ground is neither too soft nor too hard for efficient digging.

Pokémon Notes

Ground-type from Generation V (Unova). Evolves into Excadrill. Both Drilbur and Excadrill are known for the Builder specialty in the Pokopia research data — this is the Pokémon that builds, physically and literally, and its role as Rototiller teacher reflects that identity exactly.
