Ancient Writing

Ancient Writing is an Act 2 event where the player discovers ancient inscriptions. They must choose between two options: Elegance (upgrade all Strike cards in your deck) or Simplicity (remove all Strike cards from your deck). One option upgrades Strikes while the other permanently removes them, with no additional cost.

Ancient Writing's best choice depends entirely on how many Strikes you still have and how your deck is built. Simplicity (removal) is generally superior for most decks since fewer Strikes means faster cycling of better cards. However, if you still have 4-5 Strikes and are playing a Strength-scaling build (particularly Ironclad), upgrading them to Strike+ can provide meaningful damage improvements. Elegance is better when you plan to keep Strikes long-term; Simplicity is better for decks aiming to thin down.
