Golden Idol

Golden Idol is an Act 1 event where the player discovers a golden idol on a pedestal. They can choose to take the idol (fight a Looter who stole your gold, and if you kill the Looter, keep the idol as a relic), or leave it alone. The Golden Idol relic provides 25% more gold from regular combat rewards. Taking the idol triggers an immediate fight against a Looter.

The Golden Idol fight against the Looter is a DPS check — the Looter will escape with your gold if not killed quickly. For early Act 1 decks with limited damage, the fight can be challenging. If you win, the Golden Idol relic provides substantial long-term gold gains across the remainder of the run. Additionally, the Golden Idol is one of three items that can be given to the act bosses to unlock access to Act 4, making it a key component for players pursuing the Corrupt Heart.
