Ring of the Serpent

Ring of the Serpent is a boss relic exclusive to the Silent. It replaces the starter relic Ring of the Snake and causes the Silent to draw 1 additional card at the start of each turn (drawing 6 instead of 5), while also adding a Shiv to your hand at the start of each turn. It is automatically obtained when the Silent defeats the Act 1 boss.

The upgraded ring dramatically increases the Silent's card throughput. Drawing 6 cards per turn means you consistently see more of your deck each cycle, enabling better card selection, more consistent access to key combo pieces, and more options for blocking or attacking each turn. The bonus Shiv generated every turn provides a free 0-cost attack that deals 5 damage (or more when upgraded), adding passive chip damage that synergizes with Shiv-focused builds using cards like Blade Dance, Cloak and Dagger, or Accuracy. Even on non-Shiv builds, the extra draw is simply a powerful effect. Ring of the Serpent is one of the more desirable boss relic replacements for the Silent because the upgrade from Ring of the Snake provides both raw draw efficiency and an additional free attack.
