Squishy Clay

A pliable, moisture-rich clay dug from the riverbanks and low-lying wet areas of Pokopia Island, Squishy Clay is the island's primary moldable medium. In its raw state it is cooperative and forgiving — easy to shape, easy to seal — and these properties make it useful for waterproofing gaps in stone structures and providing a raw base for pottery and planter items. Once fired or thoroughly dried, it holds its form with enough rigidity for permanent outdoor use.

Squishy Clay is found at water's edges across multiple biomes, particularly near the Bleak Beach tidal zone and in the low terrain of the Withered Wasteland after rainfall. Players focused on garden items, decorative outdoor furniture, and planters will consume it steadily, and those who choose to invest in Brick production — which requires fired clay — will need a reliable and regular supply. It is one of those materials that seems secondary until suddenly it is not.
