Volcanic Ash

Fine grey ash collected from fumaroles and volcanic vent areas in the island's geological interior — the hot, sulfurous ground features that give Pokopia's deeper terrain a distinctly volatile character. Volcanic Ash is a dual-purpose material: structurally, it acts as an additive that significantly improves Concrete's density and durability when included in the mixing process; aesthetically, it provides a dark, dramatic base for items with a visually striking character, including Fireworks.

Collecting Volcanic Ash requires venturing into the island's less hospitable terrain zones, particularly the vent-adjacent areas of Rocky Ridges and the volcanic substrate sections accessible in the later biomes. The quantities available at any given vent vary with the island's geological activity cycle, making it one of the few materials where returning to the same location multiple times is more reliable than finding new sources. Its dark, powder-light texture is distinctive in Ditto's inventory and satisfying to accumulate.
