Rocky Ridges occupies the island's elevated interior: steep inclines, narrow ledges, boulder-choked gorges, and sudden drops make it the most physically demanding biome to traverse. The rock here is ancient and dense, resistant to change. Rock Smash is essential for clearing paths, and players who build an early friendship with Hitmonchan will find barriers giving way progressively. Rock-type, Ground-type, and Fighting-type Pokemon predominate, attracted by the rugged terrain and mineral-rich outcrops scattered throughout.

Rocky Ridges serves as the island's principal mining destination, providing the largest concentrations of Stone, Iron Ore, Copper Ore, and Limestone — all critical for mid-game crafting tiers. The Jump move is required to reach the upper terrace sections, and from the highest vantage points, Glide opens a route up to the Sparkling Skylands. Beneath its demanding surface, the Ridges reward perseverance with spectacular panoramic views from the summit.
