Sparkling Skylands
The Sparkling Skylands represent the highest accessible region of Pokopia Island: elevated plateaus and floating rock formations immersed in cloud-diffused light, where the air grows perceptibly thinner and sweeping views of the entire island unfold below. The shimmer responsible for the Skylands' name originates from mineral deposits in the rock faces that catch and scatter sunlight at altitude, producing a constant subtle glitter visible from the Ridges below on clear days. Flying-type and Psychic-type Pokemon dominate here, preferring the open sky and seclusion of a region accessible to very few.
The Sparkling Skylands remain locked until Ditto befriends Dragonite and acquires the Glide move. The biome is deliberately engineered around aerial navigation: platforms at calculated height intervals each function as a launch point for the next, with gaps sized to reward planning over reflex. Some of the island's rarest Pokemon species are found exclusively here, and unique crafting materials of this elevation — Glowing Stone, Volcanic Ash from vent formations, and windswept Wildflower clusters — cannot be obtained anywhere lower on the island.
