Ceramic Fish is a common relic that grants 9 Gold every time you add any card to your deck, including from combat rewards, shops, events, and card-adding effects. This can generate a surprising amount of extra Gold over a run if you are regularly picking up cards. Even if you are selective about card rewards, the bonus fires for every card you do choose to take.

The relic's value scales with how many cards you add to your deck throughout the run. Decks built around taking lots of cards — or builds that use relics like Orrery or Dead Branch that generate many additional cards — can accumulate substantial Gold. The extra Gold translates to more shop purchases, including cards, potions, and other relics. Ceramic Fish is at its weakest in runs that deliberately keep decks small and lean, but even adding a modest number of cards it generates meaningful Gold income compared to the opportunity cost of a relic slot.
