Golden Idol

Golden Idol is an event relic that can be obtained from a specific random event. It increases the gold dropped by all enemies by 25%. Every monster, elite, and boss drops more gold when this relic is active. It can only be obtained through the event that offers it — the Falling event or the Tomb of Lord Red Mask.

Golden Idol provides a sustained gold income boost across the entire run, which translates into greater shop purchasing power. Over a full run with dozens of combat encounters, the 25% gold bonus can amount to a significant total — potentially enough extra gold for a full additional shop item. It synergizes strongly with Bloody Idol (which heals per gold gained) and with any strategy that relies heavily on shop purchases for power. The relic has no downside and its value scales with how much combat you engage in and how important gold is to your current build. It is weakest on runs where gold is already abundant and you have nothing to spend it on, and strongest on gold-hungry runs.
