Paint Balloon

Paint Balloon is a large sphere of brightly coloured liquid pigment, either hung decoratively or displayed as if just moments before impact — a prop that radiates the spirit of Smearguru's entire artistic philosophy in a single object. Crafted from Sea Glass Fragments and Stone, it contributes to the Colour sub-score and is the signature festive-art item in the outdoor catalogue, distinct from Party Poppers and Balloons by virtue of its painterly associations. Where other decorative items suggest celebration, Paint Balloon suggests creation — the joy of making colour rather than simply receiving it.

Smearguru reportedly introduced the Paint Balloon to the island's crafting catalogue himself, pushing Tinkmaster to develop the recipe after a spontaneous outdoor colour-fight with a group of visiting Smeargle left a series of spectacular pigment explosions across the western shoreline. The aftermath was, by all accounts, one of the most beautiful things anyone had ever seen, and several Pokémon — particularly Smeargle and other artist-temperament species — still seek out areas with Paint Balloons as if searching for the residue of that original event. It pairs naturally with Garden Flowers and Wall-Mounted Flowers for a colour-saturated outdoor habitat.
