Utility Pole
The Utility Pole is a tall treated-wood post strung with sagging electrical cables between ceramic insulators, the unmistakeable marker of electrified infrastructure and the item that most strongly establishes an inhabited, connected island in the industrial-modern register. Crafted from Small Logs and Iron Ingots, it contributes to the Structure sub-score and simultaneously raises the Infrastructure sub-score — a metric that reflects how thoroughly the island has been wired for modern use. A row of Utility Poles lining a road or path turns a basic outdoor route into something that reads as a town street.
Electric-type Pokémon are strongly attracted to Utility Poles — Pikachu, Jolteon, Electabuzz, and others have all been documented scaling or perching on poles and apparently tapping into the cables in idle animations, drawing on what the game implies is a perpetual light meal of ambient electrical current. DJ Rotom has run cables from a cluster of Utility Poles directly into his sound system, claiming the outdoor electrical connection gives his outdoor sets a “raw power” that indoor rigs can't replicate. The Utility Pole pairs with Railway Track and the Concrete Mixer for a complete industrial-infrastructure build that maximises both Structure and Infrastructure sub-scores simultaneously.
