Scyther

⚡

Scyther is built for cutting. Its forearms are blades, its movement is precise, and its relationship to vegetation is fundamental: it doesn't grow things, it processes them. In Pokopia, that makes Scyther one of the most practically valuable Pokémon to befriend.

Teaching Cut

Scyther teaches Cut, the move that clears overgrowth, processes trees into Sturdy Sticks and Small Logs, and opens blocked paths. Since most of the early furniture recipes require wood, having Cut unlocked early accelerates the crafting progression significantly. Players who prioritize Scyther friendship tend to have smoother first few hours.

Finding Scyther

Scyther appears in areas with dense vegetation — particularly thick-grown sections that have been left untended for years. The Withered Wasteland has several such pockets. Scyther tends to survey these areas with obvious professional interest.

Pokémon Notes

Bug/Flying-type from Kanto, known for its bladed arms and notable speed. Scyther is one of those Pokémon that the original games intended to be powerful but whose stats and movepool never quite matched the aesthetic. Pokopia gives it a role that fits the design perfectly: sharp things cut. Scyther cuts. Done.
