Steelix

Steelix is Onix evolved — formed when Onix's body, over hundreds of years of underground pressure, transforms from rock into a metal more durable than any steel humans manufacture. It's over nine meters long, extremely heavy, and moves through solid rock with ease. It is, in most practical senses, a geological feature that happens to be alive.

Role in Pokopia

Steelix occupies the island's deepest rock zones — areas with the most compressed, ancient terrain. They move slowly and create tunnels that connect distant points in the island's underground, which (after Surf and Glide are both available) provides additional route options for Ditto's navigation. Unlike Onix, which is relatively common in rocky areas, Steelix encounters are rare and impressive.

Steel/Ground-type from Generation II. Onix evolves into Steelix via trade with Metal Coat in the mainline games. Both Onix and Steelix are present on the island, representing different points of the same evolutionary arc as coexisting island residents.
