Dualcast

Dualcast is the Defect's unique basic skill, costing 1 Energy to evoke the rightmost Orb twice. Upgrading reduces its cost to 0, making it completely free. Since evocation triggers an Orb's active effect, Dualcast on a Lightning Orb deals 6 damage; on a Frost Orb it grants twice the Block; on a Dark Orb it depletes and fires; and on a Plasma Orb it generates 2 extra Energy.

At 0 cost, Dualcast is one of the Defect's strongest basic cards because it delivers two full evocations for free, which is exceptional value in any Orb-heavy setup. It shines especially in Lightning builds for burst damage, Frost builds for emergency Block, and Plasma Orb setups where each Plasma generates energy. Upgrading Dualcast is among the highest-priority Smith targets for the Defect.
