Amplify

Amplify is a rare Defect skill that causes your next Power this turn to be played twice for 1 Energy. Powers are the Defect's strongest scaling tools — Defragment, Biased Cognition, Electrodynamics, and Echo Form all apply enormous permanent buffs. Playing any of these twice simultaneously doubles their impact: Defragment grants +4 Focus instead of +2, Electrodynamics activates twice, and so on.

Amplify's ceiling is among the highest in the Defect's card pool. Doubling Biased Cognition means starting with 8 Focus instead of 4 (though it decays faster too), and doubling Defragment turns it into a massive Focus engine. It pairs most naturally with the strongest Powers, particularly those that provide sustained passive scaling. Upgraded, the next 2 Powers are each played twice instead of 1, potentially doubling two different Powers in the same turn for extraordinary setups.
