Strange Spoon

Strange Spoon is a shop relic purchasable from the in-game merchant. Cards that Exhaust when played now have a 50% chance to not Exhaust instead. This means each Exhaust-on-play card has a coin-flip chance to return to your discard pile rather than leaving the game permanently. It can be purchased from shops found throughout the Spire.

Strange Spoon is a niche but potentially powerful relic on decks built around high-value Exhaust cards. Cards like Offering, Fiend Fire, Reaper, and Limit Break are powerful but single-use without Strange Spoon; with it, they have a chance to recur. On builds centered around repeatedly cycling a key Exhaust card, Strange Spoon effectively doubles the expected plays of that card over the course of a long fight. Conversely, on decks that use Exhaust as a core synergy (Feel No Pain, Dark Embrace, Dead Branch), Strange Spoon interferes by preventing exhausts from happening. It is also low value on decks that have few or no Exhaust cards. Strange Spoon requires careful consideration of your existing Exhaust synergies before purchasing.
