Rampage

✨

Rampage is Oongka's signature active ability and the defining expression of his combat philosophy — an escalating state of aggression that increases his attack speed, cleave radius, and damage output as he chains kills together without pausing. Activating Rampage consumes a portion of Oongka's stamina reserve and initiates the escalation; each enemy killed while in Rampage extends its duration and increases its power multipliers, creating a snowball effect that rewards aggressive, uninterrupted forward momentum.

The Rampage state visually transforms Oongka — his eyes intensify, his movement becomes more aggressive, and the visual effects on his Dekarr Greataxe and Orc Blaster increase in intensity with each escalation tier. At maximum escalation, Oongka's attack speed is roughly double its base rate, his cleave radius extends to hit enemies at twice the standard weapon range, and his damage multiplier is significant enough that standard enemies in the game's middle chapters die in one or two hits. Bosses and elite enemies are naturally resistant to the full escalation effect, requiring more hits to build the multiplier.

Managing Rampage requires understanding its resource dynamics. Entering Rampage is cheap but the escalation tiers demand consistent kill chains to maintain. In encounters with sufficient enemy density — camp assaults, dungeon clears, group combat scenarios — Rampage can sustain at high escalation for the entire fight's duration. Against boss encounters or sparse enemy groups, the lack of kills to feed the chain causes the escalation to decay, eventually dropping Oongka back to base Rampage or below it.

Upgrading Rampage in Oongka's skill tree addresses this limitation by reducing the escalation decay rate, extending the window between kills before the chain breaks, and adding a secondary activation that allows Oongka to maintain base Rampage indefinitely once activated regardless of kill frequency. Maximum upgrade also adds a Rampage burst that releases all accumulated escalation energy in a single powerful attack on demand — useful for boss encounters where sustained escalation is impractical but a single high-damage output is achievable.
