About Crimson Desert
Developed by Pearl Abyss and powered by the proprietary BlackSpace Engine, Crimson Desert is a story-driven single-player action RPG featuring a seamless open world spanning 90 km² with no loading screens. The continent of Pywel flows from the lush fields of Hernand, through the frozen peaks of Pailune, across the grand capital region of Demeniss, into the mechanical wonders of Delesyia, and finally to the barren, iron-red sands of the Crimson Desert region that gives the game its name.
The game features three playable characters (Kliff, Damiane, and Oongka), each with unique combat styles and skill trees. Combat is combo-driven and inspired by fighting games, featuring deep mechanics including parry, perfect dodge (which restores stamina), and the unique Observe system that lets you absorb enemy moves into your own arsenal. With 13 weapon types, a three-branch Abyss Artifact skill tree, and 10-level gear refinement, the progression system rewards mastery.
The World of Pywel
Pywel is a continent of 110 factions in constant tension. The Greymanes, Kliff's mercenary band, must navigate shifting political alliances, liberate territories, and rebuild their base at Howling Hill while confronting a supernatural threat from the Abyss, a parallel dimension floating above the physical world. Five witches scattered across Pywel serve as bridges between the two realms, and the enigmatic White Crow watches over all.
