Leafage
Leafage is the first move most players unlock in Pokémon Pokopia, and it immediately demonstrates what the game's move system is actually about: not combat, but construction. When Ditto uses Leafage, it doesn't deal damage — it seeds the ground with tall grass, transforming bare dirt into a living habitat. The Withered Wasteland stops looking quite so withered.
How to Learn It
Leafage is taught by Bulbasaur. Befriending one of the island's Bulbasaur — spending time near them, meeting their preferences, perhaps placing a habitat they favor — eventually prompts Bulbasaur to share the move with Ditto. Once learned, Leafage is available freely.
Uses in the World
The most direct use of Leafage is creating Tall Grass habitats, which attract Grass-type and other ground-dwelling Pokémon. But the downstream effects go further: grass creates cover, cover affects which Pokémon feel comfortable in an area, and the overall environment level of a biome rises as it fills with plant life. Learning Leafage isn't just about grass — it's unlocking the island's ecological chain.
Move Category
Leafage is a Regular move (terrain-affecting), as opposed to a Transformation move like Surf or Glide. This means it changes the land itself rather than changing how Ditto navigates it.
