In a world where every other faction is trying to extract resources, build weapons, or establish territorial control, NuCaloric has identified a simpler market: keeping people alive long enough to spend their Scrip. And it turns out that market is enormous.

The corporation began as a food science company developing nutrient-dense rations for long-haul space colonization voyages. On Tau Ceti IV, they pivoted entirely to Runner support, developing compounds specifically formulated for the physiological stress of wearing a Runner Shell, the cognitive demands of combat decision-making, and the unique biochemical challenges of digital consciousness re-instantiation. Their lead researcher, Dr. Amara Diallo, has pioneered what she calls "Shell-native biology" — products that interface directly with Runner Shell hardware to deliver effects no conventional consumable could achieve.
