Lore & Background

MIDA arrived on Tau Ceti IV not to extract resources but to establish the arms trade that every other extracting corporation would need to stay alive. Their strategy was brilliantly cynical: arm every faction, escalate every conflict, and skim profit from both sides. This neutrality-for-profit doctrine has made MIDA universally tolerated, and universally distrusted.

MIDA's lead broker on the Promised Land goes by the callsign Jackknife, a former Runner who retired from the field and built MIDA's entire Tau Ceti operation from scratch. Jackknife's reputation for fulfilling contracts regardless of faction affiliation makes MIDA the safest vendor relationship to maintain, even if the other factions resent it.
