Triage: Runner Shell Guide
Triage is Marathon's field medic Shell — Med-Drone heals and prevents bleed-out, Reboot+ revives downed allies or EMPs enemies, and Battery Overcharge makes Triage a surprisingly lethal support fighter. Keep your squad alive.
Triage
Triage is Marathon's dedicated field medic: the Shell that keeps squads alive when the fight gets ugly. The Med-Drone passively heals and shields attached teammates while preventing bleed-out when they go down. Reboot+ delivers emergency revives or disabling EMPs. Battery Overcharge transforms Triage from a pure support into a combat-capable fighter. Don't be fooled by the healer label: a good Triage player controls the pace of every engagement.
Overview
- Role: Field Medic / Support
- Difficulty: Intermediate
- Team Role: Support
- Best For: Team-oriented players, those who enjoy support roles, squads that want a dedicated healer
Abilities
Prime Ability: Reboot+
Ready the Capacitive Gauntlets (defibrillator). Lock on to a downed crew member to rapidly revive them, faster than a standard revive and possible mid-combat. Alternatively, aim at an enemy to deliver an EMP blast that temporarily disables their shields and abilities. The dual utility (revive ally OR disable enemy) makes every Reboot+ activation a meaningful tactical decision.
Tactical Ability: Med-Drone
Deploys a floating drone that attaches to a crew member, restoring their health and shields over time. When the attached Runner goes down, the Med-Drone automatically prevents bleed-out, buying critical seconds for Triage to reach them and complete a Reboot+ revive. Attach the drone proactively to your most aggressive teammate before fights start.
Trait: Shareware.EXE
Medical consumable benefits are shared between all crew members with the Med-Drone attached. When Triage pops a Shield Charge or Patch Kit, the healing effect extends to drone-attached teammates. Combined with NuCaloric faction upgrades that boost consumable potency, Shareware.EXE creates cascading heals that can sustain a squad through extended firefights.
Trait: Battery Overcharge
Boosts weapon damage output at the cost of generating extra heat. While active, breaking an enemy's shield with a Volt-type weapon causes an EMP effect on the target, disabling their abilities temporarily. Triage running a Volt weapon becomes a shield-breaking EMP platform, layering support utility onto every kill.
Tips & Strategies
- Attach Med-Drone to your Destroyer or Vandal before any fight, keep the most aggressive player alive.
- Reboot+ can EMP an enemy engaging your downed teammate, disable their abilities, then revive in safety.
- Invest in NuCaloric faction upgrades to make your healing consumables significantly more potent.
- Run a Volt weapon with Battery Overcharge to provide EMP shield-breaks on top of your healing.
- Stay behind your frontline: Triage that dies first helps no one.
