MIDA Multi-Tool

The MIDA Multi-Tool is Marathon's legendary weapon — a Tier 4 MIDA reputation unlock that delivers assault rifle damage in a pistol frame with precision rifle accuracy. At 55 damage per shot with 90 accuracy, a 20-round magazine, and three mod slots, the Multi-Tool is by virtually any metric the best secondary weapon in the game and competitive with many primary weapons for overall combat effectiveness. Runners who have unlocked the Multi-Tool are immediately recognizable as experienced, well-invested players.

The Multi-Tool's three mod slots — the highest of any pistol — allow for exhaustive customization. A common loadout runs a suppressor for stealth operations, an extended magazine bringing capacity to 28 rounds, and a targeting laser that further improves the already exceptional accuracy rating. This combination creates a weapon that performs competitively against primary weapons in every category.

How to Unlock

The MIDA Multi-Tool requires MIDA Tier 4 reputation and significant Merits to purchase. Reaching Tier 4 requires consistent contract completion across all four maps, typically representing 30-50 hours of focused MIDA contract work. The investment is universally considered worthwhile — the Multi-Tool is the benchmark that defines a "complete" combat loadout and remains competitive at every level of content Marathon offers.
