MIDA Multi-National is Marathon's arms dealer, private military contractor, and the only faction that has no genuine interest in winning the conflict on Tau Ceti IV — because MIDA profits from the conflict continuing indefinitely. Their business model is cynically brilliant: arm every faction, escalate every dispute, and collect fees from all sides. The name will be familiar to fans of Bungie's previous franchise, and on Tau Ceti IV, MIDA has evolved from a weapons manufacturer into a full-spectrum military services corporation with paramilitary forces operating on all four maps.

MIDA's lead broker on the Promised Land operates under the callsign Jackknife — a retired Runner who built MIDA's entire Tau Ceti operation from nothing. Jackknife's reputation for delivering on every contract, regardless of which other faction is involved, has made MIDA the safest vendor relationship any Runner can maintain. They don't take sides. They don't hold grudges. They sell weapons, buy proof of effectiveness, and pay what they promise.

Working with MIDA

MIDA contracts span all four maps and are available to runners of any Shell type — the faction has no alignment preference because combat capability is their only requirement. Contract types include arms retrieval from enemy-held zones, high-value target elimination, performance milestone challenges using MIDA weapons, and field testing of prototype gear in live combat. Because MIDA reputation never decays from working with rival factions, they can be advanced alongside any other faction investment simultaneously.
