UESC Hunter
UESC Hunters are the elite pursuit units of the rogue AI β constructs specifically designed and deployed to track, corner, and eliminate Runner operatives. Unlike standard constructs that patrol fixed routes, Hunters actively hunt: they ping locations where Runner signatures were detected, coordinate flanking patterns with other Hunters, and use their advanced sensor arrays to detect runners through walls at close range. Encountering a Hunter without adequate preparation is one of the most dangerous situations in Marathon.
What makes Hunters genuinely threatening is their behavioral sophistication. They do not charge runners directly. Instead, a Hunter will send one of its pair into the runner's line of sight to draw fire while the other flanks from an unexpected direction. Against solo runners without advance warning, this coordination is extremely effective. The Glitch Shell's EMP Resistance and System Override ability are uniquely valuable against Hunters β doubling the stun duration and providing immunity to the electrical disruption Hunters use to disable runner abilities.
